Volkswagen Launches Extended ID. Buzz Cargo with Longer Wheelbase
Volkswagen unveiled an extended ID. Buzz Cargo variant on 23 September 2026, featuring a longer wheelbase and increased cargo capacity with Vehicle-to-Load functionality. The four-wheel-drive model opens at €50,630, with the rear-drive variant from €48,490.
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles opened pre-orders for the extended ID. Buzz Cargo LWB on 23 September, with the 4MOTION all-wheel-drive 250 kW variant starting from €50,630. The rear-wheel-drive model will become available the following week, priced from €48,490.
The stretched variant measures 4,962 mm in overall length with a 3,239 mm wheelbase, extending interior length by 250 mm compared to the standard ID. Buzz Cargo. The additional length adds 0.5 cubic metres to the load compartment. A wooden floor and second sliding door come standard, with the opening widened by 19 cm to accommodate Euro pallets through the side.
The extended model houses an 86 kWh battery providing approximately 300 miles of WLTP range. Configuration options include two or three-seat layouts, with maximum payload reaching 700 kg on the RWD variant and 606 kg on the AWD version. The 4MOTION all-wheel-drive setup delivers 250 kW (335 hp) combined output, compared to 210 kW (281 hp) in the standard model.
All new ID. Buzz variants feature Volkswagen's latest ID. software platform, with Travel Assist and one-pedal driving available as optional features. The Cargo LWB additionally introduces Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, enabling the van to serve as a mobile power source for external devices and equipment. In the United Kingdom, order books will open in early 2027 with a spring launch targeted.
